For as long as she can remember, Helen has been passionate about creating visual images, which tell the story about her friends, family and the world around her. From Maine to Montana, from the mundane life during the global pandemic to the energy of a military homecoming, from life as a lobsterman to life on a ranch and everywhere in between.
While in Castine Helen my the love of her life, Philip. After getting married in 2019 Helen started a new adventure as a military spouse. Which lead her to start a business, Military Homecoming Photography. She started the business with the hope of serving fellow military families, documenting those precious military milestones, that she understands all to well. While her heart is in the business she continues to take photos and documenting life around her. She has started a series of different photo projects. Ranging from life as a lobsterman in maine to life to hunting dogs in Pennsylvania. Follow along to see the newest and latest images.
A seventh-generation Texan, Helen grew up in Houston. She went to college in Fort Worth at TCU, where she pursued Film, Television and Digital Media. While at TCU she was part of the football team's film crew and spent her summers with CBS golf. Her football background lead her to NFL films, where she was a production assistant.
While working as an associate producer for the NFL's program "Hard Knocks," she had the honor of being award an Emmy. Inspired by the art of creative story-telling through visual images at NFL Films, Helen decided to return to her roots in still photography. In 2017, Helen moved to Maine and began a photography portrait project to capture the amazing personalities, that make up the town of Castine, Maine. In 2019, one of her photos for this project was selected by a panel of judges to become part of the permanent collection at the Wilson Museum in Castine.
